有許多西方常用的花卉其實在中醫理論裡同樣有功效，更有不約而同之處。洋甘菊的花語為苦難中的力量，代表了洋甘菊對治療的多重功效，可安撫情緒，緩解讓人難受的炎症和痛症，在埃及更因其有治熱症的作用，稱之為月亮藥草。另一種常見用作寧神的就是薰衣草，更被人稱為「寧靜的香水植物」，平靜的幽香可讓人放鬆情緒，也有抗鬱、止痛及舒緩炎症的作用，用作泡茶一樣有安心寧神的功效！
洋甘菊－性寒，主要功效為安神，更有袪風解表的作用，對於因風熱而起的感冒及風濕疼痛也有舒緩的功效。
薰衣草－性涼，有清熱解毒，散風止癢的功效，主治風熱頭痛、口瘡、咽喉紅腫，同時可舒緩風疹等皮膚問題。

Chamomile's Chinese name means strength during suffering, which means it has multiple healing effects. It can calm emotions, relieve infections and pain. In Egypt it is called moon herb for it's ability to treat heat symptoms. Another mind calming flower is lavender, it's pleasant fragrance helps to relax the mind, fight depression, relieve pain and infection.
Chamomile- cold in nature, mainly used to calm the mind. It can also dispel wind and relieve pain and flu symptoms due to hot wind.
Lavender- cool in nature, can clear heat and detoxify, dispel wind and relieve itch. It is mainly used for hot wind related headaches, canker sores, swollen throat, as well as skin issues such as hives.
